- How do I book a China hotel online?
- To book a hotel online, start from the home page and click the
"Hotels" tab in the top left search area. Fill in the options with
yellow backgrounds. The fields with white backgrounds are optional.

- What is the Ctrip Low Price Guarantee?
- Ctrip promises:
Every time you book a hotel through us, your member rate will
always be lower than the hotel rate offered the day you check in.
If this is not the case and you check in at a rate lower than
your Ctrip rate, you can receive double Ctrip points for the booking.
Just send us your invoice for confirmation.
If you decide to pay your Ctrip member rate, you can receive
both the CNY difference between rates and get double Ctrip points for
the booking. Again, just send us your invoice so we can confirm the
difference.
- How does the Credit Card Guarantee work?
- Due to high demand for hotel rooms in China during peak periods, you must
provide credit card information to guarantee your hotel reservation.
The Credit Card Guarantee process:
Guaranteed Credit Card Booking Process: After receiving your credit card information, Ctrip will verify it and book your room(s) for you. Once your order has been confirmed by Ctrip, it cannot be modified or cancelled after the deadline. Note that deadlines are determined by hotels and may vary among orders. The exact deadline will be given during your booking. If you provide incorrect or incomplete credit card information, Ctrip reserves the right to cancel your order and charge a no-show fee. After Ctrip confirms your booking, your hotel room will be held for you until noon of the day following your check-in date.
Your responsibilities and penalties:
- No-show charge: After your credit card guarantee has been
verified and accepted by the hotel, you can incur a no-show charge if
you do not show up or if you cancel too late. This charge is generally
the
equivalent of one night's stay at the hotel.
- Depending on individual hotel deadlines for cancellation or
changing for bookings, we cannot guarantee that your order can be
canceled
or modified once your Credit Card Guarantee is verified. You will be
charged the rate for one night if you do not show up. Please plan your
trip
carefully to avoid the no-show charge.
- How do I change or cancel my hotel reservation?

- Click on the "My Trip" tab in the upper right of the home
page. Log in and access "My
hotels" to see your reservation list.
To change your reservation, click the "Modify" button and follow the
directions to select and reserve a new hotel.
To completely cancel your reservation, click the "Cancel" button.
- Any cancellation or change to the hotel reservation must be
made before the deadline. After the deadline you cannot change or
cancel your reservation online. Please contact us by phone on
400 619 9999 (within Mainland China) or (86 021) 5251 4569. Any cancellation or change
is subject to applicable penalties if your cancellation or change
request is made after the deadline.
- What is the deadline for canceling or changing
my hotel reservation?

- Prepaid orders or orders with a Credit Card Guarantee need to
be canceled or changed within the deadline, or Ctrip will have to
deduct some or all of the room fee from you. Normally the deadline is
at 6pm of the day you check in, but the deadline times of different
hotels varies. During your booking, you will be advised of the specific
deadline.
- We suggest you make hotel reservations 1 or 2 days in advance
during the off-season in China and more days (at most half a month) in advance
during the peak season.
- What if I don't show up at the hotel?

- For prepaid orders or orders with a Credit Card Guarantee,
after your Credit Card Guarantee has been verified and accepted by the

- For other orders, to avoid incurring any fees, you can inform

- What is the difference between "service
apartment" and "resort"?

A service apartment is a type of furnished, self-contained
apartment designed for short-term stays, which provides amenities for
daily use.
A resort is a hotel located in a resort area with many
recreation facilities, such as golfing, skiing, etc.
- Is the exchange rate of CNY against the US
dollar an up-to-the-minute rate on your website?
- The exchange rate of CNY against the US dollar on our website is
not updated in real time. The exchange rate in our system is slightly
higher than the current rate.
- How do I pay Ctrip?
- For China hotel reservations, the most common way to pay is at the check-out using cash or a credit card. However, some hotels may allow prepayment.
- What does the "Breakfast" column mean?

- A room with a breakfast icon means it offers free breakfast
for one or two guests.
- You have to pay for breakfast when there is N/A in the
"Breakfast" column.
- What does the icon mean?
- If you book a room with the gift icon, you get a bonus when you
check in.
- What does mean?
- The room is not available but you can still view room details.
- What should I do if I have a special room
request?
- Any special requests can be written in the "Add. request" area on
the "Contact information" page. We will deliver your request to the
hotel.
- What's the difference between "Pay at check-out"
and "Prepay online"?
- Normally the prepay rate is cheaper than the check-out rate.
However, many hotels cannot offer prepay services.
- Does the room rate include tax?
- All rates include hotel service fees, but do not include tax or
any other fees.
- Why do I need to input the estimated arrival
time?
- Your estimated arrival time allows the hotel to arrange your room
more flexibly. Checking in before noon may result in an additional fee.
- What should I do if I check out in advance?
- If you need to check out in advance, please inform Ctrip one
working day before you leave the hotel. If you fail to inform us or
have an emergency, please provide your hotel receipt and Ctrip will
refund remaining room fees. Otherwise the fees cannot be refunded.
- How do I know my reservation is confirmed?

- We will send a confirmation email to your registered mailbox
after we confirm your submitted reservation.
- If you provide your mobile phone number (in China), you will
also receive a confirmation message from us.
- What forms of identification should I present at
check in?
- When checking in, please present at least one of the following:
Passport / Chinese ID Card / Entry-Exit Pass from Hong Kong and Macau /
Permanent Residence Permit in China / Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan
Residents.
- Can I add additional guests to my current
hotel booking?
- You must make a new reservation for the new guests.
- How can I get a receipt for my hotel reservation?
- You can get the receipt from the hotel when checking out.
